Mowing hay with our ground driven horse drawn mower

Mowing hay with our ground driven horse drawn mower

I want to first apologize for letting my blog posts lapse for so long. It has been an extremely busy summer for me in my farmer mode, since I’m trying to do a better job caring for the land and make improvements as well. Making hay, clearing some land to enlarge a hay field, plowing the garden and planting 500+ strawberry plants for a Pick Your Own patch next year. This along with the normal summertime duties of mowing the pasture with the horse powered and ground driven bush hog, mowing around fences with the scythe, and cutting my winter’s supply of firewood has kept me out of the shop more days than I care to think of.

Nevetheless, I have managed to get caught up with my furniture orders mostly and am gearing up to make a set of kitchen cabinets for the shop kitchen as an addition to my showroom. Yes, I also make kitchen cabinets even though my first interest is in furniture.

I’ll include some photo’s of recent work for your interests and hope to incorporate some of them into the actual website in time.
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer in Maine or wherever you live in our great country!
