New Work
I recently completed several White Oak rockers, and wanted to bring them to your attention. They turned out quite well, I think, in fact quite stunning with the medular rays that White Oak is famous for. Due to the nature of White Oak being a bit splintery, I have opted to use, along with my traditional Linseed/Tung oil and wax finish, a natural varnish to seal off those fine slivers that tend to appear as the wood ages. The results is a bit more of a “coated look” but not so much as to distract from it’s beauty. It takes considerable more time to produce, but I believe is worth the effort.
